The Tour We Join: Beijing Badaling Great Wall, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square Day Tour by Bus

Last vacation was my first opportunity to visit Beijing, the capital of China. I felt very grateful because of this chance. Together with family, it was like we start to know history of the country from Beijing historical sites. Here some pictures that will tell the story of our 1 day tour.

First time to Beijing, then everyone should not miss Tiananmen Square, a center of political and government in China. The square is so big and surrounded with impressive historical site, such as Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and Forbidden City.

Above is the main gate from Tiananmen Square to Forbidden City. You can see huge photo of Mao Zedong hanging in front of it. Lots of people took the photos with it as background including me.

Then after Tiananmen Square, we headed to ancient classical royal palace called Forbidden City. Behind of its huge grand building, there are lots of histories we could know from our guide. Above is the grand building of the palace, most important hall of all.

At the end of our Forbidden City tour, we did visit Imperial Garden, last part of the palace. Here was used as the place for emperor to relax, was a private retreat for the imperial family.

Next after lunch, head to Badaling Great Wall which located outside Beijing. Hike up the Great Wall of China brought us some feeling like heading back to the old China. It is a nice experience that we can see a huge defensive military system of China.
 

The Tour We Join: Beijing Badaling Great Wall, Summer Palace Day Tour by Bus

The tour that we joined was relatively cheap, only for US$ 30 we could have a whole day tour to Great Wall and Summer Palace (famous imperial garden of China). Here, you can see our pictures that we took during the tour.

First, our destination comes to Summer Palace, classical garden of Ming and Qing dynasty of China. The garden views were stunning and exactly surrounded by numerous cultural relics around it.

Each of building inside the garden has its own history behind, all of it explained by our guide. Very interesting to know several stories behind it!

Here is one of famous cultural relic which located in the middle of the garden, at Kunming Lake, huge manmade lake in Summer Palace. As you can see the lake changed into ice because of cold weather.

Stunning Summer Palace regarded as largest and best preserved imperial garden of Qing Dynasty. It was an escape place for emperor and his family from city summer heat. What a great summer resort!

Next trip to the Great Wall at Badaling, closest section from Beijing. My experience on Great Wall was not really special, but I should admit that the Wall has its power, magic and strong. Overall, I am satisfied from what I got from our full 1 day tour.

The Tour We Join: Mutianyu Great Wall & Forbidden City Private Day Tour

1 day trip to visit Great Wall and Forbidden City was a perfect combination! Two must visit sites in China that everyone should not miss when come to the capital, Beijing. So here there are some pictures of mine that I took during the tour. So lets the pictures do tell the story.

We walked from our guesthouse to Tiananmen Square and walked through the Gate of Supreme Harmony, which sports a nice portrait of Chairman Mao.

Walked deep more inside here right in front of us, the most magnificent structures of Forbidden City called Hall of Supreme Harmony. As one of the magnificent halls of Three Great Halls in Outer Court, this hall was used as the place where hold several important ceremonies during Ming and Qing Dynasty of China.

As Forbidden City houses lots of artworks and heritage, strolling through the palace was like explore the art museum. Lots of majestic and unique design likes this lion statue above.

Like even loves every detail of Forbidden City! That was my conclusion for a short trip to this ancient imperial palace. Countless little details, colors, and designs are precisely what make the Forbidden City worth a wander.

Next is an excursion outside Beijing to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu offers gorgeous views and countryside around the Great Wall, less crowded even offer stunning views around. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, the section at Mutianyu stretches 2.5 kilometers including 22 watchtowers.

Standing on the Great Wall facing east, you will have Mongolia to your left and China to your right. Moreover, because Mutianyu surrounded by 90 percent vegetation areas, then in all season views on this section of Great Wall will offers different beauties all year long. It was a nice hike on Mutianyu overall. Very worth it and organized!
