Like everyone should know after a trip in Shanghai town, there is one place nearby also worth for visiting. An ancient water town of China called Zhujiajiao is the best place to enjoy classical old building of Chinese. Here from the pictures, you can see all about Zhujiajiao Watertown.
We walked the streets and alleys showcasing whitewashed, tile-roofed two-story buildings, some dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Zhujiajiao known as the Venice of Asia because this ancient city is still used the canals as one of their transportation system. Boat even the major transportations among local people till now.
We spent the day exploring, took a boat trip and enjoyed the many shops and sights. Honestly, that is a nice tranquil place surrounded by beautiful old town and authentic architecture.
A short break to Zhujiajiao is the ideal option for you for escape busy crowded place to feel the charm of China. It is the place for relax, sit down and admire the atmosphere around. 1 day will not be enough!
The Tour We Joined: Shanghai Half Day Bus Tour
I stayed in Shanghai for about 4 days for work and in the middle of it, I would like to travel city. After my work finished, exactly at the last day in Shanghai, I did explore that modern city by local travel agency help. The tour was relatively organized and cheap. For me who travelled alone, this is the best choice.
Start my trip from the famous Yu Garden. From the picture above, it will explain mostly buildings that I look inside the garden.
Besides old and impressive architecture buildings of Yu Garden, here visitors are also able to enjoy stunning view of one best preserved classical garden of China.
After a short trip to Yu Garden, its time moved to the Bund, a symbol of the city. I went out to the Bund to have a look at the amazing views of Pudong. Luckily, I had perfect weather so I was able to get an incredible view of the beautiful city.
The majority of Shanghai sites have been spent exploring areas like Pudong, Peoples Square, Nanjang road, the Bund, the French Concession. Above one spot when I was in French Concession, a fabulous complex filled with beautiful houses with European architecture.
Then to the Xintiandi, entertainment center area in Shanghai where young people commonly hang out. The picture of Xintiandi also can be seen here. Overall, although time that I had very limited, but I like the atmosphere of Shanghai, the place where old and modern China meet. I have completely fallen in love with this city and am extremely excited to see more parts of the country and further explore Shanghai in the next vacation.
The Tour We Join: Shanghai Night View with Huangpu River Cruise Bus Tour
Although a little bit cold, but fortunately, on that night was clear (without fog). We were lucky to have a cruise night trip on the first day in Shanghai. For about 45 minutes, we did see the best night scene along Huang River, called among locals as the mother river of Shanghai.
We were waiting for the departure of our boat. We got up to the up deck to our boat quickly to personally enjoy the stunning night views of Shanghai.
Lots of visitors taking photos on the upper deck of the boat. Very windy and bit cool but on the whole, you need to dress up properly for fully enjoy this tour.
After the sunset around the Huangpu River will light up with hundreds of colored neon lights, skyscrapers, reflected in the water. It gave visitors an old and new view of Shanghai (Puxi and Pudong).
Best capture of that day! We totally enjoyed every minutes we did spend on boat. Capture its architecture the TV tower "Oriental Pearl" with other colored lights shining skyscrapers in surroundings.
After that, we did strolling around the Bund till the famous Peace Hotel near Huangpu River and Nanjing Road, busiest commercial district in Shanghai. After have a short look to Peace Hotel, we headed Nanjing Road for again enjoy Shanghai night life there. I am happy overall with the tour, could really enjoyed vibrant nightlife in this metropolis city by visit plenty of highlights.
