The Tour We Join: Xian Private Day Tour: Ancient City Wall & Provincial History Museum
Xian is the capital of Shaanxi Province, one of the oldest cities in China with more than 3,000 years of history. After a tour to Terracotta Warriors which was breathtaking, we had some spare time to explore more. So this is another day discover history of Xian that you could see by pictures below.
Our first visit this day was to Provincial History Museum. It is a pretty, modern building with lots of local artifacts in terracotta and bronze, and the first celadon glazes.
Shaanxi was the imperial capital of China with more than 13 dynasties history found. Exhibit of terracotta warriors is also exhibited here.
Then visit the second destination called Xian Ancient City Wall, a wall to protect the city from enemy. It is also known as one best preserved ancient classical Chinese wall.
A total length of Xian City Wall is nearly 14 km. So, we cannot walk explore the whole area since time we had was limited, additionally the weather was cold.
After lunch, we headed to the next destination, Forest of Stone Steles Museum. This museum holds a large collection of stone steles from the Han to the Qing Dynasty. The museum mainly consists of works of literature and philosophy, historical records, calligraphy and pictorial stones.
Then before transfer us back hotel, we had a short visit to Bell Tower, one of old Ming dynasty building in Xian. Overall, I was happy for having this experience, one day covers 4 remarkable sites in Xian.

The Tour We Join: 1 Day Xian Bus Tour: Terracotta Warriors & Banpo Museum
What is more important while visiting Xian better than visit Terracotta Army? Surely a trip to Xian that we had also cannot miss a short visit to this huge discovery in China, one of the greatest, and most famous, archaeological discoveries of all time, Terracotta Army.
So, here we booked a group tour took us to visit Terracotta Army, Banpo Museum, and North Square of Big Wild Pagoda. I was like really interest and would like to know what is Banpo Museum. So we did reserve this 1 day Xian group tour. It is a close look of Banpo Museum that you can see above.
Yes, Banpo Museum is archaeological site of Banpo that belongs to the Yangshao Culture. The ruins we can see here include residential dwellings, pottery manufacturing, burial locations and storage cellars. Museum displays of artifacts are on site.
After a short visit to the ruins of Banpo then next headed to North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda. From a distance, we could see one remarkable pagoda of China here. Then after that, we moved to Terracotta Army.
Our trip to this huge tomb complex was my favorite after all. Here one of my favorite photos where you can see almost the whole complex of Terracotta Army.
Here, there is a close up look on one spot among 8,099 life-size figures of warriors and horses were interred in the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of China. Each figures of terracotta army have their own facial expression, thought to represent real members of the emperor's army.
Qin Shi Huang (first emperor of China) was buried in a giant mausoleum near modern-day Xian. He personally ordered workers to build his burial site once he ascended the throne. Above some of ruins at Terracotta Army located at one small pit.

The Tour We Join: Xian Terracotta Warriors Private Day Tour + Xian City Wall
Since I did come to Xian, then there is a must do list, visit Terracotta Army. The here is our pictures during one day Xian private tour that we could capture along our way. Our tour began with a short visit to a large complex of Terracotta Army.
The pit where we can see the large complex filled with hundreds terracotta sculptures with different facial expression and gestures. Every detail looks so magical and incredibly amazing! Everyone should personally come to this site to feel its sacred atmosphere.
There is no better experience for have a close look to those terracottas. All we could experience by visit this famous world heritage site. Amazed by its beauty and you will be realized why Terracotta Army even regarded as the biggest archeological finding till now.
Next, after visit Terracotta Army, the time moved into the other famous landmarks of Xian called Ancient City Wall. Above is a picture of one spot in Xian City Wall we did capture before we hike up to the Wall.
People could stroll around the Wall in fact, same as we do. The weather might a little bit cold so because of that, we did not see so many travelers above. Whatever, we still enjoyed our trip by the way.
On this spot on the picture above, we could see a little bit more visitor here. People could have a sit, have rest, takes some pictures etc on the Wall.
Our last stop during this Xian day tour is a visit to Xian Muslim Quarter, a biggest Muslim community in Xian. According from our guide explanation, here located 10 famous Muslim mosques, one most popular called Great Mosque. Not only for the mosque, the street also offers plenty kind of Muslim foods and snacks on both sides of street. All in all, the whole day gave us very interesting experience. A short day but much more things that we can get!
