Excursion to Mount Huashan

You can travel from Xian to Huashan by bus or train. The most efficient way is by the high speed train. Buy the ticket at Xian North Station together with the return train ticket to Xian. D train is 35 RMB for second class (take 42-44 minutes), G train 55 costs RMB for second class (33-36 minutes). Then, from the station visitors can took a cab to the Huashan Mountain. It cost us RMB20. You have to negotiate the price with the cab driver as the cab did not run on meter.

Short Excursion to Luoyang from Xian

From Xian, Luoyang can be reached by high speed train. The distance of 400km took about 1.5 hours. The high speed train from Xian North to Luoyang-Longmen is now available many times a day, starting 7am. The last train returns around 7pm. The train stopped at several stations in between - and one of the stop was Huashan Mountain. Its last stop is in Zhengzhou.

Travel to Xian by Train

There are plenty of trains transporting passengers to and from most of the major cities inside China including Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Lhasa, etc.
Xian Station is at the north end of Jiefang Road, just outside the northeast city wall. It is the main railway station in town.
Xian North Station mostly serves the high-speed rail including the G- and D-series trains. It is connected by the metro system. Destinations include Luoyang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Shijiazhuang, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Changsha, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. From Xian, it is very easy to reach the train station by city bus. Many hostels also will offer pick up or drip off service.

Nightlife in Xian

Spend the night in Xian can be enjoyed by see Tang Dynasty Show or a visit to Big Goose Pagoda Square to see fountain and music show which starting at 8:00pm. For admire Xian nightlife, Defu Lane (Defuxiang Bar Street) is the best place to visit. It is a famous entertainment street in Xian houses numbers of numerous cafes, tea houses, restaurants and bars.

Travel in Xian by Taxi

Taxis in Xian are very limited. You may find yourself being taken on a long ride around town to get where you are going.
If you are unfamiliar with the city, it will become much safer and reliable join local tour to visit numerous ancient landmarks in Xian or travelling in town.

Famous Attractions to Visit in Xian

f you only have one day in Xian then we recommend visit Terracotta Warriors and Xian Ancient City Wall. But if you have more than 1 day in Xian then you have a lot of time explore numerous historical attractions such as, Huaqing Hot Spring, Big Goose Pagoda, Great Mosque, Famen Temple, Qianling Tomb, Provincial History Museum and even including an excursion to Mount Huashan.

Xian Xianyang International Airport

Covering an area of 5 square kilometers (largest airport in China's northwest), Xian Xianyang International Airport (XXIA) is the main airport serving Xi'an, capital of China's Shaanxi Province. The airport services 140 routes to more than 50 domestic and 18 international destinations. Most flights from Xi’an Airport fly to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Guilin, Jiuzhaigou, Hong Kong, Taipei, Nagoyo, Tokyo, and Seoul.
Xian Xianyang Internatinal Airport has two terminals - T1 and T2. Currently, most flights are served from the Terminal 2 building.

Best Time to Visit Xian

Xian has a relatively mild climate. July is the hottest month with reported temperatures in the 30 Celcius and January is the coldest month with average daytime temperatures of 5 Celcius. Pick your best time but avoid Chinese holidays like Oct 1, May 1 or Chinese New Year national holiday.
