Shanghai to Hong Kong Lantau Island by July Monroe

February22

What a trip to Hong Kong without a visit to Lantau Island, the largest Hong Kong island and one of the most popular sightseeing places in Hong Kong. Visitors can have a relaxing trip here far from modern busy city of Hong Kong, admire and enjoy peaceful Lantau Island. Lantau Island has known for several tourist attractions including Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, its Giant Buddha, Ngong Ping Village, Po Lin Monastery and Tai O. With this 2 days Hong Kong tour, we could visit the Giant Buddha, Po Lin Monastery and Tai O. So, here there are our little trip to the island, escape from the busy Hong Kong.

Start from Giant Buddha, most famous attraction on this island stand 34 metres high. It is the second largest outdoor sitting Buddha in the world. We should climb the 268 steps to reach the platform and did some short break and take some pictures of amazing Bug Buddha bronze statue along the way. When we arrived at the platform of the Big Buddha, we realized there are six smaller bronze statues and surround the Big Buddha. We had a bit short rest on the platform and at the same time could enjoy the peaceful and calm atmosphere above.

]Then to the Polin Monastery which located very close to the Buddha statue. We took our time to explore different temple, halls, buildings as well as enjoy the picturesque views from top. After a short walk inside the monastery, we also had a great chance taste vegetarian course inside for lunch. Dishes are prepared with natural materials and are supposed to be quite healthy. All in all, we were quite satisfied with the service and hygiene of the meals.

Tai O VillageTai O Fishing Village

After lunch, we headed to the famous small fishing village called Tai O, which also our last destination. Since child, I wished that I could stay in one small fishing village, would be peace and quiet. So my experience visit Tai O village was soo memorable. Of course each fishing village will be famous for its seafood and fishing culture, then Tai O similar with others. The architecture of stilt houses there are also unique to capture. Here we could see hundreds of fishing boats, ships, and vessels. Everything from dried seafood, salted fish, shrimp paste and sauce, and other specialties can be found here. For me I love the environment and life style around, so natural.

A Must Visit in Hong Kong to The Peak by Jessyln

November12

A week that I spend in both cities Shanghai and Hong Kong was not enough. Two modern cities in China filled with plenty of interesting places to shopping and hanging out. My friends and I, we were very happy to finally able visit two cities full of highlights. Then, here I would like to share you my experience in Hong Kong because personally I love the city and its atmosphere. There are lots of cheap cosmetics, branded bags, shopping malls, parks, and others. So, a total 4 days in Hong Kong was not enough for me.

A journey to Hong Kong is not complete without experiencing Victoria Peak. The Peak is the highest point on Hong Kong Island, this has been the city most exclusive neighbourhood since colonial times. This is where you get the best views of Hong Kong Island. The best way to go to The Peak is by Tram Peak. Most visitors would take the Peak Tram to reach the Peak including us. The ride is quite steep and it climbs up to 396 metres above sea level. We could see a spectacular panorama view over the northern coast of Hong Kong Island, Victoria Harbour and Kowloon. Trams operate at about 10 till 15 minute frequency and the journey from terminus to terminus takes about 7 minutes.

Tram PeakThe Famous Tram Peak

Located at Lower Terminus, The Peak Tram Historical Gallery features fifteen window displays with memorabilia illustrating the history of the Peak Tram during the 19th and 20th centuries. It is also become a witness for Hong Kong history of 120 years city's changes. A visit to the gallery will bring back some memories to local or foreigner travelers about the development of the city. It is free for all passengers using the Lower Peak Tram Terminus.

Peak TowerClear View from The Peak

When we arrived at the Peak Tower, I could see the Viewing Terrace on top of the building. We could admire Hong Kong best view at night or daylight with its different atmosphere. More than that, there also boasts Hong Kong Madame Tussauds, plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants, coffee shops and etc. At the peak, you will also find an open square garden, the Peak Lookout restaurant, The Peak Gelleria Shopping Mall and Visitor Information Counter. It is also a very ideal place for couple who comes at night to have a romantic dinner.
