Henan and Hubei Provinces are located in the South China. Henan has main cities including Zhengzhou and Luoyang, whereas Hubei has Yichang. In Henan Province, there are 3 world heritages sites that have its own character and identities. They are Longmen Grottoes, Yin Xu and Historic Monument of Dengfeng. In Hubei Province, there is Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains which famous for its artistic religious building design. Located 16 kilometers south of Luoyang in Henan province, on the banks of the Yi River, Longmen Grottoes represent the high point of Chinese stone carving. It is the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties. Together with the Mogao Caves (Gansu Province) and Yungang Grottoes (Shanxi Province), Longmen Grottoes are one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites in China.
The Buddhist caves features more than 2,345 caves and grotto niches. Besides that, there are also have over 100,000 statues of Buddha in various styles and sizes.

Located in the modern city of Anyang, Yin Xu or also called Yin Ruins was the spiritual and cultural center of the late Shang Dynasty. There has become the place where discovered many large tombs in the excavations of Yinxu. Yinxu archeological site now is one of China's oldest and largest, and is also listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.
Covering a large area of 24 square kilometers, Yinxu is also famous for the discovery of oracle bones and their inscriptions, which are thought to be the beginnings of Chinese characters and writing.

This world heritage site is located in the Mount Songshan, Henan Province, which regarded to be the central sacred mountain of China. The historic architectural complex is including the Shaolin Temple, the Observatory, Songyang Academy, Taishi Towers and Zhongyue Temple.
At the foot of this 1500 metres high mountain,  spread over a 40 square-kilometre circle, stand eight clusters of buildings and sites, including three Han Que Gates which remains of the oldest religious sites in China, temples, the Zhougong Sundial Platform and the Dengfeng Observatory. These historical buildings complex are a great amount of well-preserved cultural and memorial architectures which has known as the historic Dengfeng monuments at "The Center of Heaven and Earth".

Ancient Building Complex is located in the slopes of Wudang Mountain, Hubei Province, where was known for its Taoist monasteries that should be found there. So because of that, Wudang Mountain is known for both religious site and famous scenic spot. The complex offers well preserved Taoist buildings and amount holy temples features the architecture characteristics of Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It represents the highest standards of Chinese art and architecture over a period of nearly 1,000 years. Today, 53 ancient buildings and 9 architectural sites survive, including the Golden Shrine and the Ancient Bronze Shrine.
