With a long-standing history and a high prestige in China, Mt. Wutai has long been hailed as one of the top tourist destinations filled with historical and cultural relics as well as natural wonders.

Located at the northeast part of Shanxi, 230 kilometers away from Taiyuan, Mt. Wutai has a long-standing Buddhism culture. It has long been hailed as the "Four Buddhism Mountains of China", and one of the "Five Buddhist Sacred Places in the World". Today, it has become one of the "Ten Summer Resort Mountains of China" which are very popular with tourists from home and abroad. A visit to Mt. Wutai is not all about the temples and Buddhism culture. The natural landscapes on Mt. Wutai are also worth seeing.

Rising 2795 meters above sea level, situated at the east of Mt. Wutai, Wanghai Peak is famous for its cloud of sea which can be seen standing on the mountain top. Guayue Peak, located at the west, is a wonderful spot for watching the moon. The Jinxiu Peak on the south is sprawling with wild flowers, which form a breathtaking sight looking on the mountain top. Among the five peaks, the Yedou Peak is not only the highest peak on Mt. Wutai but also across the northern China. The Cuiyan Peak is covered with lush grasses and trees. All in all, the five peaks on Mt. Wutai are worth exploring with their unique charms.

There are as many as 300 temples on Mt. Wutai in the past, however only 95 survived to this day. Among the temples there are about 30,000 Buddhist sculptures found, which are all made of clay, porcelain, metal, stone and wood. Foguang Temple and Nanchan Temple are the oldest wooden-structured temples across China. The Xiantong Temple (or Lingjiu Temple), Tayuan Temple, Pusading Temple, Canxiang Temple and Luohou Temple are hailed as the Five Buddhist Temples on Mt. Wutai. Back in ancient times, the temples on Mt. Wutai used to be divided into two types with the Tibetan Buddhism joining here. The Han ethnic monks and the Tibetan ethnic monks are very different in dressing and a lot of other ways.

Nowadays, Mt. Wutai has been included into the World Heritage List because of its invaluable Buddhism historical relics and heritages. All in all, Mt. Wutai is really worth exploring during China travel!

Here, we would like to introduce you about one attraction in Anhui Province, China which is really famous for its breathtaking mountain nature scenery. Here it is Huangshan Mountain:

Mount Huangshan has played an important role in the history of art and literature in China since the Tang Dynasty around the 8th century, when a legend dated from the year 747 described the mountain as the place of discovery of the long-sought elixir of immortality. Because of its popularity and dramatic landscapes of the mountain, it attracts poets and landscape artists to come, hike and personally see that scenery.

Huangshan Mountain renowned for its magnificent scenery made up of many granite peaks and rocks emerging out of a sea of clouds. This dramatic landscape includes formations of natural stone pillars, grotesquely-shaped rocks, waterfalls, caves, lakes and hot springs, formed by its complex geological history. Mount Huashan features numerous imposing peaks, 77 of it with the highest, the famous Lianhua Peak (Lotus Flower Peak), reaching up to 1,864 m.

There are no roads, buses or taxis on the mountain, only the National Express shuttle buses are allowed into the scenic area. Visitors can walk in but it is really recommended if you take the shuttle bus for save your energy for hike the mountain. Shuttle buses go from Tangkou to either Mercy Light Temple for the Yuping (aka Jade Screen) Cable Car or to Yungu (aka Cloud Valley or Yungu New) Cable Car. It is recommended to take the eastern route (yungu cable car) to go up its not as difficult as the western route (yuping cable car).
Buses leave approximately every 20 minutes, cost 19 RMB and take around 20 minutes. From the lower cable car stations you can either walk to the top or use the cable car.

An entry fee of 230 RMB applies (off-season entry fee is 120 RMB, for example in early December), half price for students with IDs and seniors. This discount is also available to foreign students. The fee is paid inside the scenic area where the shuttle bus drops off. If you take the cable car to the top, it costs 80 RMB each way.

Come to Huangshan Mountain, there are some impressive attractions in surroundings such as, the ancient village Hongcun, Chengkan Village, etc. Prepare your time and energy walk around and take photographs of the spectacular scenery in Mount Huangshan.

The Huangguoshu Waterfall boasts as the third largest waterfall in the world. Huaguoshuo Waterfall consists of 18 waterfalls different in shapes and sizes and stretches for 20 kilometers. The whole Huangguoshu Waterfalls Scenic Area is home to a large collection of intertwined waterfalls, amazing karst caves and underground lakes, and the spectacular natural scenery. Huaguoshu Waterfall is quite magnificent in height and width. Impacted by Karst landforms, Huangguoshu Waterfall forms a variety of unique karst landscapes. Other than waterfall groups, there are also other tourist attractions worth exploring, like a string of caves, overlapping steep peaks, dense vegetations, and countless stone forest, cliffs and gorges. In addition, there is a large number of ethnic groups living near Huanguoshu Waterfall, and adds more local charms to the waterfall with its unique culture and custom.

Tianxing Scenic Area is well known for its typical karst landform. It is nestled beneath the Huangguoshu Waterfall. It is an enchanting spot which is home to the natural bonsai area, the Tianxing Cave and Stone Forest on Water. The natural bonsai area is sprawling with a large number of stone forests. There are a variety of natural landscapes scattering around the area. The winding path made of stone leads to many other smaller attractions. Stretching for a vast area, the spot is home to a huge amount of bazaar rocks and peaks. The stone forest on water also houses a large number of banyan bonsais as well as cactus, shrubs, and wild straws. There is a spot in this area not to be missed by anyone—the Beauty Banyan, which refers to a spectacular banyan tree which is intertwined between branches by other trees.

Water Curtain Cave is another popular tourist attraction nestled near the Huangguoshu Waterfall. The cave is home to a variety of tourist attractions. Walking through the cave offers you a magnificent view of the spectacular Huangguoshu Waterfall. Another marvel worth admiring while traveling through the cave is the colorful rainbow which can only be seen during a sunny day.
