Practical Information about the Museum
Opening hours: Qin Shihuang Terracotta Army museum is open 365 days a year, without a break on holidays. Booking time: March 16th - November 14th 8:30am - 5:30pm; November 15th - March 15th 8:30am - 5:00pm. It is best not to go with the tour, to avoid being forced to visit some worthless man-made attractions. The Terracotta Army pit is located about 1.5 km east of Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. In 1974 when local farmers while digging accidentally discovered several pieces of pottery figurines, then the eighth wonder of the world was finally discovered and shocked the world. In 1979, covering an area of 16000 square, one pit site hall and exhibition hall were open, and excavation still underway at the same time, and experts found the No.2 and No.3 pits in 1976. In 1989 No.3 pit was opened to the public and in 1994, No.2 pit was open to the public. Excavation of No.2 pit used a new method with the discovery and display at the same time, so that visitors can see the figures were unearthed by archaeological workers who are cleaning up a little piece out of the scene.

Entrance ticket for Xian Terracotta Army: 150 CNY in high season and 120 CNY in low season.
Discounted tickets for visiting Terracotta Army: according to the relevant documents and regulations, the discounted tickets are given based on the following conditions: 1. active duty military personnel (including the police) with certificate of officers, soldiers certificate; 2. people with disabilities; 3. seniors more than 65 years old (including 65 years) with resident identity card; 4. go through security check with valid certificates after verification.
Free of charge visit to Qin Shihuang Terracotta Army museum based on conditions: 1. children under 1.2 meters; 2. seniors more than 70 years old (including 70 years); 3. the experts with outstanding contribution, with valid documents, experts enjoying the special government allowance and retired veteran cadres.

Historical Tombs of the Builders
Tourists after appreciating the Terracotta Warriors would asked that who built this masterpiece work and how built them, etc a series of questions will appear. Located near the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang, there are three pits for the builders. Two of them are situated in the villages and the third one has been destroyed when the land was leveled. The grave near the Zhaobeihu Village is the largest covering an area of about 9,688 square meters. Inside, there are totally 114 graves in which there are 106 Qin graves and 11 Han and Tang graves. Most interesting is that the graves inside are very crowded. It is said that these builders are mostly young people, a young man, women and a child. Miracle Slaughter Pits
According to the development of research, there are totally 17 slaughter pits located inside. Until now, there are eight graves have been discovered. Some are women and some are young man. It is said that, during the Terracotta Warriors building period, they have received serious punishment. From this pit, loads of gold, silver and some precious treasure are discovered. According to the experts, these are used by the princess and prince or other imperial members. Largest Rare Bird and Animals Pit
Apart from the human being and the weapons, there is also a largest pit containing the rare animals and birds. Listed as the world wonders, Xian Terracotta Warriors gained much recognition in the tourists with profound history, deep traditional cultural connotation and giant building construction. What impressed all the tourists are not only the giant appearances but the mysteries hiding inside. Now, I would like to give you some explanation about the mysteries of Green-Faced Terracotta Warrior.

Hidden in the three pits, there are totally 1,500 terracotta warriors. Among these lifelike figures, there are is a unique soldier with green faced appearance. Once discovered in the Pit No.2, this kind of unique figure aroused large scale interests and deep curiosity. Looking up, you would find this whole body of this figure was painted with color. Until now, you could find this color remained painted on the face. What the most interesting is that the eyeball and black pupil are still showed clearly visible and dazzling. The green colors covered the face, neck and ears. The typical green color marked this figure from other warriors. Black eyebrows and the lack bears made this figure more vivid and lifelike. According to the scarlet hair band, you could not imagine how terrific the caring skill in ancient China.

Heated Debate of Green Faced Terracotta Warriors
Once discovered in the experts and tourists, this unique appearance aroused heated debate. Why only it was painted in this way. Some experts said that this figure was carved in mistake. The creator carving this figure must be a color blind. So, the green faced appearance formed. Other experts ever refuted that during the Qin Dynasty when building this large scale construction. Al the carving workers are experienced serious examination. It is forbidden to occur to this kind of mistake. Apart from these sayings, some other experts said that the green face was created to frighten the enemies. At last, this kind of creation did not have a certain answer. During this time, what the most interesting answer will be the student in the Shanghai Jiaotong University. He said that this soldier ever a sniper in the ancient army. Three reasons appropriately explained this answer: one the sniper is always isolate; second is that the Shiji recording the sniper is always used in Qin Dynasty; last is the green color is used for usually hidden in the wild forests.

Different answers are still in the hot debate. Until now, there is still having no certain explanation. It is a world wonder decorating our process!
