Our Amazing Silk Road Adventure! by Lilian

July23

Actually the trip was purely a Silk Road trip because it also include a trip to several famous tourism cities around China include Beijing, Xian and Shanghai as our last destination. We could visit many interesting and really famous attractions in those three cities, surely for example Great Wall, Terracotta Army etc. Might because of that, I did not feel really bored about all the ancient and really old attractions we did visit along Silk Road, the legendary business route which passed through some cities in China.

Our Silk Road Trip began with a trip in Beijing. After about 4 days we spend in the capital, we moved to begin discover the Silk Road. First, from Beijing we took the flight to Urumqi, then drove to Kashgar to visit Sunday Market, Id Kah Mosque, the Old Street and Abakh Khoja Tomb. Before we joined the tour, we did not even know what places we are going to visit. We only knew with this trip we would get different experience that everyone could not feel without visit Silk Road. After that, we did visit Turpan and Dunhuang. We learnt a lot and saw a lot of interesting ancient sites include Gaochang Ruins, Jiaohe Ruins, Echoing-Sand Dune, Mogao Grottoes etc. My family and I, we did see lots of historical relics include some ruins, deserts, grottoes, temples etc which become witness for the ancient Chinese Silk Road.

With this Silk Road trip, that was like brought us to the other sides of China, the old, mysterious and ancient route that believed to be the dangerous route for people who traveled along the road at past. The street has known as the hard route to be going through because of mountains and deserts that stretched along Silk Route. But now, we could travel it easily with this local travel agency. Lots of places along Silk Route that was seriously remote and dangerous to explore it by ourselves. It could be very hard for us to reach all the destinations without professional staffs and local tour guides.

At last, I would like to say thank you for all the staffs, driver and guides who always helped us along the way. 14 days was not a short time in China but we still could enjoy the trip till the end. A nice trip that gave us incredible new and fresh experience for us!
