Harbin 24th Winter Universiade ticket booking kicks off

The Organizing Committee for the Harbin 24th Winter Universiade announced that the ticket booking service will commence from December 23.

The booking service will be available at the official ticketing website and the ticketing call center. The organizing committee also announced the distributing method of the tickets. Tickets covering all the events will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets of the opening ceremony will be sold on the basis of drawing lots, and the result of drawing lots will be released on January 19, 2009.

The online ticket sale will start from January 5, 2009. Meanwhile, purchasers will be able to buy tickets at the appointed tickets offices or at the entrances of the venues.

The 24th Winter Universiade will be held between February 18 and 28 in Harbin City in China’s Heilongjiang Province. The competitions will cover 12 sports, among which five ice sports will be held in six gyms in Harbin; while skiing sports will be held in two ski resorts, events of five ski sports in Yabuli Ski Resort and the other two ski sports in Maoershan Ski Resort.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Universiade will be held in the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center.
