It got its name as a large number of reeds cover the area and when the wind blows the reeds wave along just like a sea while looking afar. Moreover, when the autumn comes, and the reeds come to blossoms, thousands of water birds would flock around this area, which is really a marvel to the eyes! The Sea of Reeds has long been home to a large amount of water birds, and every year, flocks of them fly to this area to escape the cold and hatch eggs. Because of the high altitude, the reeds are not as high as those grown in lower lands.
