Daming Lake Park

Daming Lake Park(the lake of great light) is located in the center of Jinan City, it is one of the 3 most famous sightseeings in Jinan. Daming lake is formed by many springs.

Daming Lake Park covers an area of 860,000 square meters, the lake occupy 460,000 square meters. There are 6 islands spread over Daming Lake, with flowers, trees and other plants make these island attractive.

Tie Xuan Temple is located at the northwest bank of the lake. It is built in 1792, for memorial to an official of Ming Daynasty (1368 - 1644). Tie Xuan is a loyal militray officer leading the army fighting for the emperor and local people. And he was be killed cruelly after the failure. The later generations built the temple to memorialize his loyalty. 

Beiji Temple(North Temple) built in Yuan Dynasty(1271-1368) is located at the northeast bank of Daming Lake. It is the largest Taoist Temple in Jinan City. The constructions consist by Bell and Drum Tower, front and back halls and 2 other room.

There are many festival celebration held nearby the lake, for example, the temple fair in Spring Festival, new year flower exhibition, lotus exhibition, etc..
