Naming: Chinese traditional medicine has a great variety with complicated names, which is related with the change of era and the difference in places. On the whole, the naming of Chinese traditional medicine mostly accord with place of origin, performance, growth character, shape, smell, the part used as medicine and the name of the discoverer, etc.

Processing: It is the processing of medication. The exertion of the efficiency of medication is, first of all, determined by the function of medication itself. Secondly, it also has a direct relationship with processing. The processed Chinese traditional medicine is better for the exertion of the efficiency of the medicine and can reduce the irritant and toxicity of the medicine. Sometimes it can also increase and change some performance and better meet clininal requirements. Combination: It refers to combine more than two medicines optionally in application according to the requirements of the state of a disease and the performance of medication. The felicity of combination has a direct influence on the curative effect.
