Badaling Great WallThe Great Wall, symbolizing China's ancient civilization, is one of the famous, grand and splendid ancient construction wonders in the world. It is just like a giant dragon starting from Yalu River and crossing high mountains,deserts and grassland to the Pamir Plateau, the roof of the world from east to west in the northern part of China.

The Great Wall, as a military gigantic defensive project, kept out the invading troops of the northern nomadic tribes. Having undergone the nature for thousands of years, the Great Wall witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties and changes on the earth.

Construction of the Great Wall first began in the seventh century BC.  In Chinese history, large-scale construction of the Great Wall was concentrated in three dynasties: They are Qin, Han and Ming dynasties.

Badaling Great WallBadaling Great Wall, is located more than 75 kilometers northwest from the center of Beijing City,with more than 1000 meters above sea level, occupies a commanding and strategic position. Badaling is the best-preserved section of the Great Wall. It is called "Bada" as it stretches in all directions.

The wall here was rising high on the moutain ridge. It used to be more important on the mountain ridge. An old saying can be the best description: “It needs only one man to block ten thousand troops. The Great Wall at Badaling averages 7.8 meters high, 6.5 meters wide at its base, and 5.8 meters on the top. The highest point at Badaling is about 800-1000 meters above the sea level.

The Great Wall is a great creation of the ancient Chinese people. Badaling section was listed as an important historical in 1961 and was listed by the UNESCO as one of the world heritages in 1987.
