the overview of Forbidden City in BeijingDay 01: Arrive in Beijing
Our guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at Beijing Airport and take you to the hotel. The rest of the day is your own to explore the city at leisure.

Day 02: Beijing (B, L, D)
Visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. A Beijing Duck Dinner will be served at a famous restaurant, followed by a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre.

- The Tiananmen Square: The largest city square in the world.

- The Forbidden City: The largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years.

- The Temple of Heaven: The place where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God's blessings on the whole nation.

Day 03: Beijing (B, L)
Visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant. Visit the Sacred Way, the Ming Tomb, the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium), You will see its appearance at a distance.

- Badaling Great Wall: One of the seven wonders in the world and the symbol of China. (60 miles away from downtown, about one and half hour's drive).

- Ming Tomb: The only underground tomb of the thirteen tombs of the emperors in the Ming Dynasty.

- The Sacred Road: The road is guarded on both sides with stone statues by which the ancient emperors went to hold a memorial ceremony for the ancestors.

Day 04: Beijing - Urumqi (B)the east door of Summer Palace
Visit the Summer Palace. Then take a flight to Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and transfer to the hotel.

- Summer Palace: it is located on the northwest outskirts of Beijing. It is the best preserved imperial garden in the world and the largest of its kind that still in existence in China today.

Day 05: Urumqi - Kashgar (B)
You will take a morning flight to Kashgar, "the pearl of the Ancient Silk Road". Upon arrival you will be taken to the local best hotel. Visit the famous Sunday Market.

- The Sunday Market: it is a social and commercial highlight of the week in Western Xinjiang. In the bazaar you can find different kinds of goods: ironware, silverware, fruit, clothes, local food, livestock, etc. Traders are buying and selling one week's stock of cows, sheep, goats and horses. The process of bargaining is fantastic. There is a bazaar everyday in Kashgar, but the one on Sunday is the liveliest, as the whole community gets together.

Day 06: Kashgar - Urumqi - Turpan (B)
Visit the Id Kah Mosque, the Old Street and the Abakh Khoja Tomb. Take a flight to Urumqi and be transferred to Turpan. Check in at the hotel.

Day 07: Turpan (B)
Visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.

- Jiaohe Ruins: The Ancient Town of Jiaohe is the best preserved town ruin in China.

- Karez Well: Karez systems are the crystallization of ancient people's diligence and intelligence. At its peak, the karez irrigation system exceeded 5,000 km (3,106 miles) and was also referred to as 'the underground Great Wall'.

- Sugong Pagoda: Su Gong Ta(Emin Minaret) is standing 2 km (1.24 miles) east of Turpan. It is the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is the only Islamic tower among the hundred famous towers in China.

Day 08: Turpan - Dunhuang (B)
Visit the Gaochang Ruins, the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave and the Flaming Hill. Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Dunhuang.

- Gaochang Ruins: The Ancient City of Gaochang is the largest city ruin in west China.

- Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave: As Buddhism was the first religion from abroad introduced to this area, Xinjiang witnessed the earliest development of Buddhist cave art in China.

- Flaming Hill: is the hottest place in China. All over the bold and rough hill, there is no sign of life and it is mainly covered by weathered sand. In summer, in the searing sunlight, deep-red smoke wreathes and thermal current keeps rising. The luminous red sand stones look like the burning flame, so the mountain is called Flaming Mountain.

You will be picked up at the railway station and transferred to the hotel. Visit the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum. Breakfast is on your own. (Tips: The overnight train from Turpan to Dunhuang arrives in the late morning. There is no breakfast supplied on the train, nor is breakfast available at the hotel when you arrive in Dunhuang since it's too late. We suggest you buy some fast food or fruit before boarding the train in Turpan. After arrival in Dunhuang you can also buy some KFC or local food for breakfast before the tour starts.)

- Mogao Grottoes: it is a shrine of Buddhist art treasures, 25 km (15.5miles) from downtown Dunhuang on the eastern slope of Mingsha Shan (Mount Echoing Sand).

Day 10: Dunhuang - Xian (B, L)
You will experience a short camel-ride along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Spring. Take a flight to Xian and transfer to the hotel.

- Echoing-Sand Dune: The Echoing-Sand Dune got it's name from if one person was slide down it's slopes, he could hear the echoes to the sound of sand.

- Crescent Spring: The crescent spring is about 6 kilometers (3.73 miles) south of Dunhuang city, and surrounded by the Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Spring can be called a natural wonder in the Gobi Desert.

Day 11: Xian (B, L)
Visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. To avoid having the poor food at the site, you will take highway back to downtown to have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and City Wall. This evening you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda at night with lights in Xian - The Terra Cotta Warriors: The greatest archaeological findings of the century. The army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb.

-The Big Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.

- City Wall: Xian was originally a walled city, and even today the wall is considered a landmark dividing the city into the inner part and the outer part.

- Tang Dynasty Show: It presents the palace dances and sings in the Tang Dynasty when Xian was the capital.

Day 12: Xian - Shanghai (B, L)
Visit the Great Mosque and a local family in the morning. After enjoying an a la carte lunch at a local famous restaurant, take a flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel.

- The Great Mosque:  it is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China and its location is northwest of the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) on Huajue Lane.

Day 13: Shanghai (B, L, D)
Visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. In the afternoon, visit The Bund and Nanjing Road. Tonight a memorable a la carte dinner is served at Central Hotel, whose restaurant Wang Bao He has a history of around 260 years and is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. - Shanghai Museum: The biggest museum in China, with a collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese art & cultural relics. The museum is especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy.

- Yuyuan Garden: it is a famous classical garden located in Anren Street, Shanghai.

- The Bund: The former foreign settlement, ranged along with imposing buildings of the colonial period.

- Nanjing Road: The busiest shopping street in Shanghai.

Day 14: Departure from Shanghai (B)
