Itinerary of China Rail Tour - 6 Days Shanghai to Huangshan Train Tour

Day 1: Arrival at Shanghai
Upon arrival at Shanghai, you will be met and transfer to your hotel in Shanghai. Free for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Shanghai (B, L)
1. Pick up from your hotel in Shanghai, and first visit Shanghai Museum. Then proceed to visit Nanjing Road - "Pedestrians only".
- Shanghai Museum: often ranked as China's best museum, the new building was completed in 1996 and is a modern and well-kept facility.
- Nanjing Road: is at times a pedestrian shopping street, a winding tree-lined road, and a modern thoroughfare cutting between some of Shanghai's most posh hotels.
2. After lunch, move on to Shanghai's new zone - Pudong (east of Huangpu River) and ascend Jinmao Tower to have an eye-bird's view of Shanghai city. Finally, have a one hour cruise tour on Huang Pu River.
- Huang Pu River: one of the most important rivers in Shanghai, like an undulating dragon from Wusong to the East Sea.
3. After this day tour, transfer back to your hotel in Shanghai.

Day 3: Shanghai - Huangshan (B, L)
1. Pick up from your hotel in Shanghai, and first visit Yuyuan Garden. Then move on to the Old City God's Temple Bazaar.
- Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
- Old City God's Temple Bazaar: were rambunctious places where people would gather in front of their preferred god and pray for health and wealth, and being Shanghai, perhaps more for wealth.
2. After lunch, take bullet train to Huangshan. Stay overnight in the train.

Day 4: Huangshan (B, L, D)
1. Upon arrival at Huangshan at 6:55am, the tour guide and driver transfer you to Huangshan Scenic Area.
- Huangshan: a major tourist destination since ancient times and still captures the imagination of those who have glimpsed its jade mountains protruding through the frosty mists.
2. Arriving at Yungu Telpher Station where you take cable car up to the mountain. Check in at your hotel - Beihai Hotel. Then move on to visit Beihai Scenic Area and Xihai Scenic Area.
3. After this day, transfer you back to your Beihai Hotel.

Day 5: Huangshan - Shanghai (B, L, D)
1. Pick up from your hotel, transfer you to see sunrise at the top of Mount Huangshan. After breakfast at your hotel, begin your visit in Yuping Scenic Area. Then take cable car at Yuping Station down to the foot of the Huangshan Mountain.
2. After lunch, you are transferred to Tunxi ancient city to explore the ancient streets in Tunxi.
- Tunxi Ancient Village: located 67km (41 miles) southeast of Huang Shan, 27km (17 miles) west of She Xian Anhui Province.
3. After dinner, transfer to Huangshan train station and take overnight train back to Shanghai.

Day 6: Shanghai (B)
Upon arrival at Shanghai at 8:53am, the tour guide and driver will pick up and transfer to your hotel in Shanghai or you are free on your own.

Well worth of money. With this 6 day Shanghai and Huangshan tour, we could see famous attractions in both cities. Huangshan is a beautiful and sacred mountain. We took the cable car up to the mountain then enjoyed its stunning views from above. It was a relaxing escape from the city to admire Chinese mountain landscapes.

Everyplace we went was awesome, the accommodations excellent, and tour guide was informative and knowledgeable. We were glad we signed up for this one.
