Itinerary of China Tours 2016 - 5 Days China World Heritage Site Tour

Day 1: Beijing - Datong
Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing and transfer you to railway station to take the overnight train K608 (23:36 - 06:21) or 2603 (23:47-07:01) from Beijing to Datong, the famous coal city in China.

Day 2: Datong - Pingyao (B)
1. When you arrive at Datong Railway Station, you will meet local tour guide and take you out for breakfast.
2. Walk around the downtown area where you will see the Nine-Dragon Wall and some old streets and then our bus will leave for Yungang Grottoes and Hanging Monastery at 9:00 am.
- Yungang Grottoes: with their 252 caves and 51,000 statues, represent the outstanding achievement of Buddhist cave art in China.
- Hanging Monastery: Located 3.5 kilometers southeast of Hunyuan County and built halfway on the cliff at Jinlong Canyon, the Hanging Monastery of Hengshan Mountain is one of China's most unique and remarkable feats of wooden architectural complex.
- Datong Nine-Dragon Wall: is said to be the largest screen of its type anywhere in China. It is over 350 years older and three times larger than the one in Beihai Park in Beijing.
3. And then directly drive to Pingyao, and transfer you to your hotel in Pingyao.

Day 3: Pingyao (B)
1. Pick you up from your hotel in Pingyao, and transfer you to visit the Pingyao Ancient Town which was built according to the traditional Han Chinese town planning and architectural style.
- Pingyao Ancient Town: It has a long history of over 2,700 years. A saying goes that the past prosperity of Shanxi lies in Pingyao while the soul of Pingyao lies in its Old City.
2. Then you will be transferred to visit Shuanglin Temple in the afternoon.
- Shuanglin Temple: is a time-honored Buddhist temple and part of the World Heritage Site of Pingyao, stands in the countryside about 7 kilometers southwest of the ancient city.
3. End of this day, transfer you back to your hotel in Pingyao.

Day 4: Pingyao - Taiyuan - Beijing (B)
1. Pick you up from your hotel in Pingyao, and then transfer you to Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi Province, and visit Qiao Family Courtyard House and Jinci Temple on the way.
- Qiao Family Courtyard House: was the home of a powerful trading family with significant commercial influence even beyond Shanxi, as they were in the trade sector, a nationwide business.
- Jinci Temple: an ancient Buddhist temple located at the source of the Jin River by Xuanwang Hill, 25km southwest of Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province.
2. You will take the overnight train K602 (21:30-08:05) or K610 (21:20-05:28) from Taiyuan to Beijing.

Day 5: Beijing
When you arrival Beijing in the morning, take your own way to hotel. Tour Finished.

Once in a lifetime Chinese experience! Never expected to see so many world heritage sites in one go! Really enjoyed every minute of it and had fun too! It seemed history and culture bursts out at every bend of those historic sights. Yungang Grottoes were very impressive! Loved it!

This tour is by far one of the best trips I ever had in China! I got a chance to see plenty of historical treasures. I really really loved the Yungang Grottoes the most! Completely blew me away! Definitely worth the money - especially if you are first visiting China. Lots of impressive attractions we did visit with only within those 5 days. Breathtaking Buddhist grottoes, sacred monastery, ancient Chinese town, and others representative famous attractions we could enjoy along the way. We had a great time and the guides were fantastic and a wealth of knowledge. Superbly organized tour!

If you interest for explore Silk Route in China, then this tour will ideal for you. Brought us explore lots of impressive attractions along Datong, Pingyao and Taiyuan. The highlight of the tour is Yungang Grottoes. The grottoes were so amazing with large numbers of Buddha statues, an outstanding Buddhist cave art in China! Extremely breathtaking.

If you have limited time in China but want to explore really old and authentic historical relics then this tour will be worth it! With this train tour, we did save much more money during the tour. Yunggang Grottoes and Pingyao Ancient Town was my favorite! Spectacular views with its ancient style of grottoes, very impressive! Besides that, Pingyao Ancient Town was a lovely and beautiful town. A little bit old but I love the Chinese design of the town. More than that, we did see a lot of cool places during the tour. Thank you so much!
