Itinerary of China Adventure Tour - 22 Days Silk Road Travel and Tours in China

• Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
  On your arrival at Beijing, our tour guide will pick you up from Beijing Airport and transfer you to the hotel in Beijing. You will have a free time for the rest of the day.

 
• 

  Day 2: Beijing (B, L, D)
  Pick you up from the hotel after breakfast and then drive you to visit Tiananmen Square as the first destination. After that, visit famous Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. Then drive you to a famous restaurant to enjoy a Beijing Duck Dinner. After dinner, tour guide will lead you to the Liyuan Theater to see an interesting Peking Opera performance. After a day tour, we will drive you back to your hotel.
  - Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
  - Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
  - Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

  Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and you will visit the famous Badaling Great Wall. After explore the Wall, you will have a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, move on to visit the Sacred Way and Ming Tomb. On the way back to the downtown, we will drive by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see the shape of Bird Nest Stadium from a distance. After one day trip, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
  - Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
  - Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.

  Day 4: Beijing - Urumqi (B, L)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time and lead you to visit stunning royal garden, Summer Palace. After the visit, we will send you to the airport and you will take a flight to Urumqi. On your arrival, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel.
  - Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.

  Day 5: Urumqi - Korla (B)
  In the morning, we will drive you to Korla from Urumqi. Arrive at Korla, drive to the hotel and after that, we will visit the famous Tiemen Pass.
  - Tiemen Pass: As one of 26 famous passes in China, Tiemen Pass was a natural barrier between South and North of Xinjiang. It was also an important strategic passage of Silk Road and got its name for it as solid and firm as an iron gate. Due to its advantaged position, it is hard to aggress and capture it. It exercised great military function in ancient time, and all the masters tried to conquer it. Nowadays, it may look like a bit desolated.

  Day 6: Korla - Kuqa (B)
  Pick you up from the hotel and we will drive you to Kuqa. After your arrival, transfer you to the hotel for a short rest. After that, you will have a chance to visit the Subashi Ruins, one interesting places in Kuqa.

  Day 7: Kuqa - Aksu (B)
  Pick you up from the hotel after breakfast and we will drive you to visit the famous Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves. After enjoy the ancient caves in Kuqa, then we will drive you to Aksu. Arrive at Aksu, transfer you to the hotel.

 

• Day 8: Aksu - Kashgar (B)
  From Aksu Hotel, we will send you to the next destination called Kashgar. After your arrival, we will tranfser you to the best local hotel. You will have a free time for the rest of the day.

  Day 9: Kashgar - Karakuri Lake - Kashgar (B)
  Tour guide will pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and then drive you to Karakuri Lake and have a visit there. We will drive you back to Kashgar and transfer you to the best local hotel. (Tips: Karakuri Lake, 3,600 meters above the sea level, lies at the foot of mountain Muztagata. Due to the sharp elevation of altitude, you may feel sickness on the way. Along the way, you will see some vendors selling fruits or Nang (Chinese bread). You could buy some of that, it will make you easy and feel better along the way to keep chewing something or eating some fruits).
  - Karakuri Lake: The lake sits at an elevation of 3,600 meters above the sea level and is surrounded by a series of mountains. The Mount Muztagata, "the Father of Iceberg", on the east side of the lake reflecting its white capped peaks on the blue lakefront, compose a splendid landscape painting.

  Day 10: Kashgar (B)
  Pick you up at the hotel and begin the tour by visiting the Id Kah Mosque first. After that, you will also visit another famous interesting place in Kashgar such as, the Old Street and the Abakh Khoja Tomb. After the tour, transfer you back to the hotel.

  Day 11: Kashgar - Hetian (B)
  From Kashgar, we will drive you to Hetian. There, you will visit the Yarkant King Mausoleum and the Yingisar Uigur Knife Making. After a day trip in Hetian, you will stay overnight at the local hotel.
  (Tips: Hetain earns its fame in the world by virtue of its rich jade products and breeds of tasty fruits. Generally, the jade is excavated from the Yurungkax River banks. Due to the area's distinctive climate temperature difference, the fruits in Hetian are much sweeter and more fragrant than those in other regions. Visit Hetian in the harvest season and you can see and learn more about their excellent fruits).

 

• Day 12: Hetian - Minfeng (B)
  In this day, you will visit the Silk Village. There, you will not only learn about paper making but also see a hundred years' old walnut tree surround the area. You will visit a local bazaar on the way to Minfeng. There, you will see the unique costume of minority people in Yutian city. After know more about the city and minority people in Yutian, we will send you to the local hotel in the city.

  Day 13: Minfeng - Korla (B)
  Through the Taklamakan Desert, we will drive you to Korla. On the way, you will enjoy the scenery of sand dunes. After your arrival, we will send you to the hotel and you will stay overnight at the local hotel.
  (Tips: It takes you about 7 or 8 hours driving on the road. You will be driven through the second largest desert by the longest desert road in the world. On the way, you can enjoy the magnificent scene of Taklamakan Desert and also forests of desert poplars which have lived without water over hundreds of years. At noon, you will have your lunch near Tarim River. Because you will go through the desert for a whole day, it is advisable to wear a pair of sunglasses, bring enough water and also protect your camera well from sandstorm.)
  - Taklamakan Desert: As the second largest desert in the world, Taklamakan covers an area of 33, 700 square kilometers (over 13 square miles).

 

• Day 14: Korla - Turpan (B)
  In the morning, we will drive you to Turpan. Arrive at the city, we will transfer you to the local hotel in the city. You will have a free time for the rest of the day.

 
• 

  Day 15: Turpan (B)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time then lead you to the first destination called Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave. Not only visit Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave, in Turpan, you will also visit the famous Gaochang Ruins and the Flaming Hill. After the tour, transfer you back to the hotel.

 

• Day 16: Turpan - Dunhuang (B)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on the decided time and first, you will visit the Jiaohe Ruins. After that, we will send you to the next destinations, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda. After the city tour, we will send you to the railway station and you will take an overnight soft sleeper train to Dunhuang.

 

• Day 17: Dunhuang
  Tour guide will pick you up at the railway station and we will send you to the hotel. First, you will visit the Mogao Grottoes and then send you to the next destination called Dunhuang Museum. Prepare your own breakfast.
  - Mogao Grottoes: Mogao means high up in the desert. There are the best known of the Chinese Buddhist grottoes include Longmen Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes.

  Day 18: Dunhuang - Xian (B)
  Tour guide will take you to visit Echoing Sand Dune and Crescent Spring. There, you will experience a short camel-ride along the journey. After the trip, we will send you to the airport to take a flight to the next city, Xian. After your arrival, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel in Xian. 
  - Echoing-Sand Dune: The Dune is five kilometers (about three miles) away from the city of Dunhuang. Seen from afar, the mountain is just like a golden dragon winding its way over the horizon.
  - Crescent Spring: is a natural wonder shape like a crescent in the desert. It enjoys the title of "The Wonders of the Gobi Desert."

  Day 19: Xian (B, L)
  After breakfast, pick you up from your hotel and lead you to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. You will see an amazing battle formation of hundreds army sculpture inside the complex, the impressive one. After that, you will have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant.
  In the afternoon, you will visit another famous historical site in Xian include Big Wild Goose Pagoda and City Wall. After exploring the city, in this evening, you will see a memorable and fabulous Tang Dynasty Show. After the day tour, transfer you back to your hotel.
  - Terra Cotta Warriors: It is a part of the tomb complex of Qin emperor, the Terra Cotta Warriors is the greatest findings in the archeology world.
  - Big Wild Goose Pagoda: the symbol of the long history of Xian, and a well-preserved ancient building and holy worshipping shrine for Buddhists.
  - Ancient City Wall: the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
  - Tang Dynasty Show: a wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance, is a must when you visit Xian.

  Day 20: Xian - Shanghai (B, L)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time and then lead you to visit the Great Mosque. More than that, you will also have a short visit to a local family in Xian. After that, we will send to the famous local famous restaurant to enjoy the a la carte lunch. After lunch, drive you to the airport and you will take a flight to Shanghai. After your arrival in Shanghai, our tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in the city.
  - Great Mosque: is one of the oldest and best preserved as well as most renowned mosques in the country. It is northwest of the Drum Tower on 30 Huajue Lane.

  Day 21: Shanghai (B, L, D)
  During Shanghai day trip, visit the Shanghai Museum, the famous and beautiful Yuyuan Garden, the Bund and the Nanjing Road. Then, you will have an a la carte farewell dinner at Central Hotel which has known as the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. After that, we will drive you to the Shanghai Centre Theater to enjoy Portman Acrobatic Show. After the whole day tour, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum in China.
  - Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
  - The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.
  - Nanjing Road: the most famous thoroughfare in Shanghai for shopping and entertainment.

 

• Day 22: Departure from Shanghai (B)
  Prepare to leave Shanghai. Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on the decided time and transfer you to the airport. See you off and the tour end.
