Itinerary of 2 Days Excellent Datong Tour Packages (with hotel)

Day 1: (L)
Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Datong on the departure time. On this day, you will visit the Yungang Grottoes (Cloud Ridge Caves), Huayan Monastery and Nine Dragon Screen, famous attractions in Datong. After that, we will take you to Datong Hotel to stay overnight.
- Yungang Grottoes: represent the outstanding achievement of Buddhist cave art with 252 caves and 51,000 statues.
- Huayan Monastery: is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao and Jin dynasties in China.
- Nine Dragon Screen: a type of screen wall with reliefs of nine different shapes of Chinese dragons.

Day 2: (L)
Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will visit Suspending Temple (Hanging Monastery) and the Wooden Pagoda. At the end of this tour, we will send you back to your hotel or to the railway station. Tour end!
- Hanging Temple: built more than 1500 years ago, the temple built into a cliff more than 50 meters above the ground.
- Wooden Pagoda: regarded as the "First Pagoda in the World", it is the oldest and highest wooden structure in China.

Please Note:
1. You may get to Datong from Beijing either by train or by air. Flights are available on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Datong. If you take a train from Beijing to Datong, you may arrive at Datong at about 7:00 am and you can catch the train back to Beijing which departs Datong at about 10:20 pm.
2. Children taller than 1.1 meter should be charged as full price, children shorter than 1.1 meter should be charged only half of the price.

For Private Tour:
- Private tour is suitable for those individual or family travelers who is not willing to join the tour group, it may not feel very free when following the group. A designated car and private guide will follow you to go to the place you like, this package cost higher than coach tour.
- Vehicle mode: private luxury car or MPV van.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly making the trip all the more enjoyable. A lot of destinations which related into Buddhist religion we did visit within this 2 days tour. If you search for an excursion to see more about China then this trip could be the one! Would and have recommended this trip to everyone!

Interesting attractions with well organized tour. The guide was amazing as she told us all about history and description about each sites. She did a few other stops for us and made the experience of a new culture and country becomes very interesting. The trip was worth every cent. Enjoyed this 2 day Datong trip thoroughly!
