Itinerary of China Adventure Tour - 18 Days China Silk Road Travel and Tours

• Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
  On your arrival at Beijing, our tour guide will pick you up at Beijing Airport and then transfer you to the hotel. Free on your own for the rest of the day.

 
• 

  Day 2: Beijing (B, L, D)
  Pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and you will visit Tiananmen Square as the first destination. Then move on to visit famous Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. After that, we will drive you to a famous restaurant to enjoy a Beijing Duck Dinner. After dinner, drive you to the Liyuan Theater to see an interesting Peking Opera performance. After a day tour, transfer you back to your hotel.
  - Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
  - Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
  - Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

  Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and you will visit the famous Badaling Great Wall. After explore the Wall, you will have a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Sacred Way, the Ming Tomb, the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see the shape of Bird Nest Stadium from a distance. After one day trip, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
  - Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
  - Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.

  Day 4: Beijing - Xining (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and visit Summer Palace first. Then move to the next places called Lama Temple. After that, transfer you to the airport and you will take a flight to Xining. On your arrival, you will meet our guide and we will transfer you to the hotel in Xining.
  - Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.
  - Lama Temple: the Yonghegong Lamasery is the largest and most perfectly preserved lamasery of Gelug Sect (Yellow Sect of the Lamaism) in present day Beijing.

  Day 5: Xining - Lanzhou (B, L)
  Pick you up from the hotel on decided time then lead you to visit the Ta'er Monastery. After that, our tour guide and driver will transfer you to the railway station to take a soft seat train to Lanzhou. After arrive in Lanzhou, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel. Then, you will have a chance to have a short visit to the Gansu Provincial Museum.

  Day 6: Lanzhou (B, L)
  After breakfast, pick you up from your hotel and drive you to visit the famous attraction in Lanzhou called Binglingsi Grottoes. Enjoy the view and the history of the landmark in Lanzhou. After that, transfer you back to the hotel.

  Day 7: Lanzhou - Xiahe (B, L)
  From Lanzhou, tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and we will drive you to Xiahe. When arrive to Xiahe, transfer you to the hotel. After a short rest, you will visit the Sangke Grassland, a famous place in Xiahe and have a short visit to the Tibetan Family. Know more better about their habits and culture.
  - Sangke Grassland: Sangke prairie is at an elevation of 3000 meters (9843 feet) with an area of 70 square kilometers (27 square miles). It enjoys a good reputation in the northwest Tibetan district for its excellent pasture and frequent magnificent Buddhist ceremonies.

  Day 8: Xiahe - Lanzhou (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and you will visit the famous Labrang Monastery. As the sacred and religious place, there, you will watch the morning devotion. After that, tour guide will drive you back to Lanzhou.
  - Labrang Monastery: The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Zhaypa, Ngawang Tsondru. It is one of the six great monasteries of the Geluk (Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism.

  Day 9: Lanzhou - Wuwei (B, L)
  Drive you to Wuwei and after your arrival,transfer you to the hotel for a short rest. Then, you will have a first visit to the Han Tombs, the excavation site of the Logo of National Tourism of China - the Bronze Gallopping Horse. And after that, you will also have a chance to visit the Confucius Temple.

  Day 10: Wuwei - Zhangye (B, L)
  From Wuwei, transfer you to Zhangye and after you are arriving, drive you to the best local hotel. Begin your tour with visit the Giant Buddha Temple. Then you will visit another interesting place include the Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty, the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower.
  - Giant Buddha Temple: it is well known for the remains of the biggest indoor sculpture reclining of Nirvana Buddha in China.
  - Wooden Tower: it is a nine-storey building about 32.8 meters (107.6 feet) high.

  Day 11: Zhangye - Jiayuguan (B, L)
  In the morning, we will drive you to Jiayuguan and transfer to the hotel. Begin the tour with visit the Jiayuguan Pass. Then we will also lead you to another tourist destination include First Fire Tower of Great Wall and Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb.
  - Jiayuguan Pass: is situated at the narrowest point of the western section of the Hexi Corridor, 6 kilometers southwest of the Jiayuguan city in Gansu.
  - Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb: it is renowned as the largest subterranean art gallery in the world and housing a great deal of colorful murals.

  Day 12: Jiayuguan - Dunhuang (B, L)
  In the morning, pick you up and drive you to Dunhuang. After your arrival, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel. After a short rest, our tour guide will take you to visit Echoing Sand Dune and Crescent Spring. There, you will experience a short camel-ride along the journey.
  - Echoing-Sand Dune: The Dune is five kilometers (about three miles) away from the city of Dunhuang. Seen from afar, the mountain is just like a golden dragon winding its way over the horizon.
  - Crescent Spring: is a natural wonder shape like a crescent in the desert. It enjoys the title of "The Wonders of the Gobi Desert."

  Day 13: Dunhuang - Turpan (B, L)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time and you will visit the Mogao Grottoes. Then you will have a chance to visit Dunhuang Museum. After that, transfer you to the railway station and you will take an overnight soft sleeper train to Turpan.
  - Mogao Grottoes: Mogao means high up in the desert. The Mogao Caves are the best known of the Chinese Buddhist grottoes and, along with Longmen Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes, are one of the three famous ancient sculptural sites of China.

  Day 14: Turpan (B, L)
  Pick you up at Turpan railway station on your arrival and transfer you to the hotel in the city. In the hotel, you will have a breakfast and you will directly begin the journey. First, you will visit the Jiaohe Ruins then move to the other destinations such as, Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
  - Jiaohe Ruins: Jiaohe means twisting rivers in Chinese, it is surrounded by sheer cliffs and it is the best preserved town ruin in China.
  - Karez Well: is a kind of underground water works invented and built by laboring people of various ethnic groups in China to adapt to the natural environment in dry region.
  - Sugong Pagoda: is the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is the only Islamic tower among the hundred famous towers in China.

  Day 15: Turpan - Urumqi (B, L)
  Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time and you will visit the Gaochang Ruins, famous attraction in Turpan. Then move on to visit another interesting places such as, the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave and the Flaming Hill. After that, we will drive you to Urumqi and directly send you to the hotel in the city.
  - Gaochang Ruins: used to be a key point along the Silk Road, Gaochang ancient city was now one of the best-preserved ruins of the ancient cities in China.
  - Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave: stand high on the cliffs of west Mutou Valley, 45 km (28miles) east of Turpan. The Caves had been the Buddhist center of Gaochang.
  - Flaming Hill: is a small mountain running across the basin. the mountain is a combination of red sand and rocks, looking at the mountain from the distance in te sunsight, the heat waves and the floating clouds will make the mountain appear as though it is on fire.

  Day 16: Urumqi - Shanghai (B, L)
  Pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the airport. You will take a flight to the next city, Shanghai. After your arrival, you will meet the guide and we will transfer you to the hotel. After that, you will have a free time for the rest of the day. You can take the time to walk around The Bund area, Xintiandi and Nanjing Road.

  Day 17: Shanghai (B, L, D)
  During Shanghai day tour, you will visit the Shanghai Museum, the famous and beautiful Yuyuan Garden, the Bund and the Nanjing Road. Then, you will have an a la carte farewell dinner at Central Hotel which has known as the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. After that, we will drive you to the Shanghai Centre Theater to enjoy Portman Acrobatic Show. After the whole day tour, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum in China.
  - Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
  - The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.
  - Nanjing Road: the most famous thoroughfare in Shanghai for shopping and entertainment.

 

• Day 18: Departure from Shanghai (B)
  Prepare to leave Shanghai. Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel on decided time and transfer you to the airport. See you off and the tour end.
