Itinerary of China Adventure Tour - 17 Days China Yangtze Cruise & Silk Road Tour

• Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
  On your arrival at Beijing, our tour guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Free on your own for the rest of the day.

 
• 

  Day 2: Beijing (B, L, D)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and lead you to visit the historical sites in Beijing including Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. After exploring the city, you will have a Peking Duck Dinner served at a famous Peking Duck restaurant. After dinner, drive you to Liyuan Theater to see an interesting Peking Opera. At last, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. With a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
  - Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
  - Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

  Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
  After breakfast, pick you up from your hotel and visit the famous Badaling Great Wall. After explore the Great Wall, have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch,visit the Sacred Way, the Ming Tomb, the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see the shape of Bird Nest Stadium from a distance. After one day trip, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
  - Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
  - Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.

  Day 4: Beijing - Urumqi (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel, drive you to Summer Palace. After explore stunning royal garden, Summer Palace, transfer you to the airport then take a flight to the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Urumqi. After arrive in Urumqi, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel.
  - Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.

  Day 5: Urumqi - Kashgar (B)
  Pick you up from the hotel on decided time and drive you to the airport. You will take a morning flight to Kashgar - "the pearl on the Ancient Silk Road". After your arrival, tour guide will send you to the best local hotel in Kashgar. You will also have a chance to visit the famous Sunday Market.

  Day 6: Kashgar - Urumqi - Turpan (B)
  Pick you up at the hotel and begin the day with visit the Id Kah Mosque, the Old Street and the Abakh Khoja Tomb. Then transfer you to the airport to take a flight to Urumqi. After arrive in Urumqi, we will transfer you to Turpan. After your arrival in Turpan, you will meet the guide and be transferred to the hotel.

  Day 7: Turpan (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and then visit the first destination called Jiaohe Ruins. After that, move on to the next destinations including the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
  - Jiaohe Ruins: Jiaohe means twisting rivers in Chinese, it is surrounded by sheer cliffs and it is the best preserved town ruin in China.
  - Karez Well: is a kind of underground water works invented and built by laboring people of various ethnic groups in China to adapt to the natural environment in dry region.
  - Sugong Pagoda: is the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is the only Islamic tower among the hundred famous towers in China.

  Day 8: Turpan - Dunhuang (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel and visit the fisr destination, Gaochang Ruins. Then move on to visit the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave and the Flaming Hill in this day. After a day trip, transfer you to the railway station and you will take an overnight soft sleeper train to Dunhuang.
  - Gaochang Ruins: used to be a key point along the Silk Road, Gaochang ancient city was now one of the best-preserved ruins of the ancient cities in China.
  - Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave: stand high on the cliffs of west Mutou Valley , 45 km (28miles) east of Turpan.
  - Flaming Hill: The mountain is a combination of red sand and rocks, looking at the mountain from the distance in the sunsight, the heat waves and the floating clouds will make the mountain appear as though it is on fire.

  Day 9: Dunhuang
  Tour guide will pick you up on time at the train station and transfer you to the hotel in the city. After a short rest in the hotel, you will visit the Mogao Grottoes and then Dunhuang Museum. Prepare your own breakfast.
  - Mogao Grottoes: Mogao means high up in the desert. There are the best known of the Chinese Buddhist grottoes include Longmen Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes.

  Day 10: Dunhuang - Xian (B, L)
  Visit Echoing Sand Dune and Crescent Spring. There, you will experience a short camel-ride along the journey. After the trip, transfer you to the airport to take a flight to Xian. After your arrival to Xian, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel. 
  - Echoing-Sand Dune: The Dune is five kilometers (about three miles) away from the city of Dunhuang. Seen from afar, the mountain is just like a golden dragon winding its way over the horizon.
  - Crescent Spring: is a natural wonder shape like a crescent in the desert. It enjoys the title of "The Wonders of the Gobi Desert."

  Day 11: Xian (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. You will see an amazing battle formation of hundreds army sculpture inside the complex, the impressive one. Then you will have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and City Wall. After exploring the city, in this evening, you will see a memorable and fabulous Tang Dynasty Show. After the day tour, transfer back to your hotel.
  - Terra Cotta Warriors: It is a part of the tomb complex of Qin emperor, the Terra Cotta Warriors is the greatest findings in the archeology world.
  - Big Wild Goose Pagoda: the symbol of the long history of Xian, and a well-preserved ancient building and holy worshipping shrine for Buddhists.
  - Ancient City Wall: the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
  - Tang Dynasty Show: a wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance, is a must when you visit Xian.

  Day 12: Xian - Chongqing (B, L, D)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and visit the Great Mosque first. Then have a short visit to a local family in the morning. After that, have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive you to the airport. You will take a flight to Chongqing. After your arrival in Chongqing, you will meet our guide at the airport and be transferred to the hotel. At the hotel, you will have a rich buffet dinner and prepare to check in at the cruise ship.
  - Great Mosque: is one of the oldest and best preserved as well as most renowned mosques in the country. It is northwest of the Drum Tower on 30 Huajue Lane.

  Day 13: Yangtze River (B, L, D)
  In the morning, you will start your cruise journey along Yangtze River. It will starts at 9:00am and you will send to the first destination, Fengdu Ghost City. It is a must-shore excursion site on the Yangtze cruise.
  - Fengdu (Ghost city): Fengdu is the only ghost city in China. The temples are all over the mountain with many statues.

  Day 14: Yangtze River (B, L, D)
  Along the way, you will see stunning and fascinating sceneries during the cruise trip. You will be impressed by the unique scenery of the famous Three Gorges including Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge. You will also see amazing and unbeatable sceneries at Shennong Stream.
  - Qutang Gorge: it is the first of the three gorges of the Yangtze River and it is famous for its sheer and spectacular precipices.
  - Wu Gorge: Wu Gorge is the second gorge of the Three Gorges system in Yangtze River and gifted with exquisite peaks and lush mountains and ranges.
  - Shennong Stream: is one of the most important ports of call for Yangtze Three Gorges tour. It is a 60-kilometer tributary of the Yangtze River
  - Xiling Gorge: it is the largest and furthest downstream of the Three Gorges.

  Day 15: Yichang - Shanghai by air (B, L)
  Prepare to get off from the cruise to have an excursion to the under constructed Three Gorges Dam. You should pack your luggage and follow the check-out procedures. After check out from the cruise, have a lunch at Yichang city and visit Yichang Museum if time allows. 
  Transfer you to the airport and you will take a flight to Shanghai. After your arrival in Shanghai, you will meet our guide and be transferred to the hotel in Shanghai.
  - Three Gorges Dam: located in the Yiling District of Yichang, in Hubei province, China. It is a hydroelectric dam that spans the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping. It is the largest electricity-generating in the world.

  Day 16: Shanghai (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel and visit the first destination, Shanghai Museum. Then enjoy the nature sceneries of the famous Yuyuan Garden. After having lunch, visit the Bund area. There, you will take a cruise tour enjoy the modern landscapes of the city along Huangpu River. The cruise will start at 14:00pm. It will reach the Wusongkou pier and then get back to the Bund at 17:00pm. After that, you will have some free time to explore the Bund area by your own. At last, transfer you back to the hotel.
  - Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum of China.
  - Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
  - The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.
  - Huangpu River: one of the most important rivers in Shanghai, like an undulating dragon from Wusong to the East Sea.

 

• Day 17:  Shanghai / End (B)
  Prepare to leave Shanghai. Tour guide will send you to the airport and see you off. The tour end.
