Itinerary of China Discovery Tour - 15 Days China Tours with Yunnan Guizhou Minority Travel

• Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
  Upon arrive in Beijing, the tour guide and driver will meet you outside the baggage claim area at Beijing Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

  Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing, and transfer to visit the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.
  - Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
  - Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
  - Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.
  2. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Beijing.

  Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing, and transfer to visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant.
  - Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
  2. Then continue to visit the Sacred Way, the Ming Tomb, the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) and the Water Cube (Olympic Aquatic Center) in the afternoon.
  - Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
  - Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.
  3. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Beijing.

  Day 4: Beijing - Xian (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing, you will visit the Summer Palace and Lama Temple.
  - Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.
  - Lama Temple: the Yonghegong (Palace of Harmony and Peace) Lamasery is the largest and most perfectly preserved lamasery of Gelug Sect (Yellow Sect of the Lamaism) in present day Beijing.
  2. After this tour, you will be transferred to the Beijing Airport to take a flight to Xian. When you arrive at Xian Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian.

  Day 5: Xian (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Xian, and transfer to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors.
  - Terra Cotta Warriors: It is a part of the tomb complex of Qin emperor, the Terra Cotta Warriors is the greatest findings in the archeology world.
  2. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall. This evening you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Dinner Show.
  - Big Wild Goose Pagoda: the symbol of the long history of Xian, and a well-preserved ancient building and holy worshipping shrine for Buddhists.
  - Xian Ancient City Wall: the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
  3. After this tour, pick you up from your hotel in Xian.

  Day 6: Xian - Guiyang (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Xian, and transfer to visit the Great Mosque and a local family.
  - Great Mosque: is one of the oldest and best preserved as well as most renowned mosques in the country. It is northwest of the Drum Tower on 30 Huajue Lane.
  2. After lunch at a local famous restaurant, take a flight to Guiyang and transfer to the hotel.

  Day 7: Guiyang - Kaili (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Guiyang, and transfer to visit the Qingyan Old Town. Then drive to Kaili and check in at the hotel.
  2. After lunch, visit the traditional way of paper-making and a Long-skirt Miao Village. You will experience daily life of the Miao people by visiting the local families. Meanwhile, you can appreciate the Miao typical architecture - Wooden Stilt House.
  3. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Kaili.

  Day 8: Kaili - Rongjiang (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Kaili, and transfer you to visit another Long-skirt Miao Village.
  2. Then drive to a village nearby to see the pottery-making. En route, explore a Village of Shui People located in a deep valley.
  3. Late afternoon, arrive at Rongjiang and stay at the local best hotel.

  Day 9: Rongjiang - Congjiang - Zhaoxing (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Rongjiang, and then drive to visit Yintan Dong Village. Family visit will be arranged. Then explore Basha Miao Village noted for the hair dresses of men.
  2. In the afternoon, drive to Zhaoxing, visit the largest Village of the Dong People in China. Stay at the local best hotel.

  Day 10: Zhaoxing - Sanjiang - Longsheng (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Zhaoxing, and transfer to explore Tangan Dong Village noted as the first ecological museum of Dong people.
  2. Then drive to Sanjiang to visit the Chenyang Wind and Rain Bridge and explore the Dong villages nearby.
  - Wind and Rain Bridge: was built in 1916. Like a huge dragon across the Linxi River, it is one of the four most famous bridges in China and an important national cultural relic.
  3. Late afternoon, arrive at Longsheng and stay at the local best hotel.

  Day 11: Longsheng - Guilin (B, L, D)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Longsheng, and transfer to visit the most spectacular Longji rice terraces and the Village of Yao People in Longsheng.
  - Longji rice terraces: located in Longsheng County about 100 kilometers away from Guilin, was started during the Yuan dynasty about 700 years ago by the Zhuang people and finished during the Qing dynasty.
  2. Late afternoon, transfer to Guilin and check in at the hotel. Enjoy Ethnic Songs and Dances at Lijiang Theatre after dinner.

  Day 12: Guilin-Yangshuo-Guilin (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Guilin, and transfer you to enjoy cruise down the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo, and then transfer to the hotel in Yangshuo.
  - Li River Cruise: From Guilin to Yangshuo. To travel the river, one will find its natural sights vary in different weathers, but are all beautiful.
  - Yangshuo: An ancient city town. Yangshuo is famous for its attractive hills and waters as well as its abundant production particularly for such fruits as sweet orange, tangerine, pomelo and persimmon.
  2. A short bicycle trip to the countryside will then be arranged. You will visit home of a local villager to experience the lifestyle of farmer there. Alternatively, you can take our electric car instead of taking bicycles.
  3. Then Transfer to Guilin.(Tips: Since the lunch on the Li River cruise cannot meet your expectation, we suggests that you have enough breakfast at the hotel today).

  Day 13: Guilin - Shanghai (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Guilin, and transfer to visit the Reed Flute Cave, the Seven Star Park and the Elephant Trunk Hill.
  - Reed Flute Cave: One of the most famous caves in Guilin. The 240-meter-long cave contains numerous grotesque-shaped stalactities that form four zones of the cave: Stone Forest, Heavenly Pillar and Cloud Mountain, Crystal Palace and Zigzagging Gallery.
  - Seven Star Park: In the park is the famous Seven Stars Mountain, which has many water-eroded caves. Among these caves, the most famous scenic spot in the park is the Seven Stars Cave, which is inside the Putuo Hill.
  - Elephant Trunk Hill: shapes just like an elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk, thus its name.
  2. After that, take a flight to Shanghai and transfer to the Hotel in Shanghai.

  Day 14: Shanghai (B, L, D)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai, and then transfer to visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden.
  - Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum in China.
  - Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
  2. After lunch, transfer you to the Bund area, where you will take a cruise tour on the Huangpu River. The cruise will start at 14:00, reach the Wusongkou pier and then get back to the Bund at 17:00. Leave you some free time to explore the Bund area on your own.
  - The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various towers over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.
  - Huangpu River: one of the most important rivers in Shanghai, like an undulating dragon from Wusong to the East Sea.
  3. Tonight an a la carte farewell dinner is served at Central Hotel, whose restaurant Wang Bao He has a history of around 260 years and is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. The memorable dinner will be followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
  4. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Shanghai.

 

• Day 15: Departure from Shanghai (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai, and transfer you to Shanghai airports and see off.
