Itinerary of China Tours 2016 - 13 Days South of China World Heritage Tour

• Day 1: Hong Kong - Guilin
  You will take the flight from Hong Kong to Guilin. When you arrive in Guilin, the tour guide will meet you at the airport and then transfer you to the hotel directly. Free for the rest of the day.

  Day 2: Guilin (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Guilin, and then transfer to Longsheng County to visit Longji Terraced Field.
  - Longji Terraced Field: Located in Longsheng County about 2 hours from Guilin, the Longji Terraces are built into the hillsides and look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill.
  2. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel in Guilin.

  Day 3: Guilin (B, L)
  1. Pick up from your hotel in Guilin, and transfer to visit Reed Flute Cave, Fubo Hill and Elephant Trunk Hill.
  - Reed Flute Cave: One of the most famous caves in Guilin. The 240-meter-long cave contains numerous grotesque-shaped stalactities that form four zones of the cave: Stone Forest, Heavenly Pillar and Cloud Mountain, Crystal Palace and Zigzagging Gallery.
  - Fubo Hill: It stands by the Lijiang River in the northern Guilin. Tourists may ascend the Halfway Pavilion and the mountaintop to overlook the picturesque landscapes of Guilin.
  - Elephant Trunk Hill: shapes just like an elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk, thus its name.
  2. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Guilin.

  Day 4: Guilin - Yangshuo (B, L)
  1. Pick up from your hotel in Guilin, and transfer to Zhujiang pier at 9:30am. You will have a Li River Cruise (4.5 hour) to Yangshuo with lunch aboard. Disembark at Yangshuo in the afternoon.
  - Li River Cruise: From Guilin to Yangshuo. To travel the river, one will find its natural sights vary in different weathers, but are all beautiful.
  - Yangshuo: An ancient city town. Yangshuo is famous for its attractive hills and waters as well as its abundant production particularly for such fruits as sweet orange, tangerine, pomelo and persimmon.
  2. After this day tour, transfer you to your hotel in Yangshuo.

 

• Day 5: Yangshuo - Guilin - Kunming (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel in Yangshuo, and transfer you from Yangshuo to Guilin Airport. You will take the flight to Kunming. On arrival in Kunming, our local guide will meet you at the airport and then transfer you to the hotel in Kunming.

  Day 6: Kunming (B, L)
  1. You will meet up with your English-speaking assistant at the meeting point in Kunming near Green Lake in morning. We will drive to Stone Forest (1 hour), which is the top attraction in Kunming. Enjoying the relaxing time in the first wonder of the world, you will enjoy a tasty lunch. After that, we will drive back to Kunming.
  - Stone Forest: is known as the First Wonder of the World ever since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) for its natural landscapes.
  2. On the way back, we will participate in a traditional tea ceremony, enjoy one of the most famous tea in China - Pu'er tea, and learn about the interesting culture of south Silk Road.

  Day 7: Kunming to Dali (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Kunming, and transfer to Kunming Airport to take flight to Dali, transfer to your hotel.
  2. Visit the Erhai Lake Park, the Three Pagoda Temple and the Dali Ancient Town.
  - Erhai: The Erhai Lake, also known as Yeyu Pond coexists well with the Cangshan Mountain.
  - Three Pagodas: The Dali Three Pagodas, located in the Chongsheng Temple at the foot of the Cangshan Mountain, have a history of over 1,800 years.
  - Dali Ancient Town: The Ancient City, a city that is famous for its literature, historical records, cultural of heritage and richest relic in Yunnan Province.
  3. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Dali, and the afternoon is free.

  Day 8: Dali - Lijiang (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Dali, and transfer you to Lijiang and to check-in the hotel.
  2. On the way to Lijiang, visit the Bai Traditional House in Xizhou and Zhoucheng, famous for tie dyeing. Visit the Square Street of the Lijiang Old Town.
  - Zhoucheng: lies 30km north near Butterfly Spring, Dali. It has earned the nickname 'the Hometown to Tie-dyeing'.
  - Lijiang Ancient Town: it was built about 800 years ago during the Southern Song Dynasty. Owing to its unique ethnic culture and urban layout, this old town consists of 3 parts, Dayan, Shuhe and Baisha. Lijiang Old Town listed to be one of World Cultural Heritage in 1997.

  Day 9: Lijiang (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Lijiang, and transfer to visit the Dry Sea, take the cable car to Spruce Plateau and overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
  - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Mountain) is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, it is locating between 10004'-10016'east longitude and 2703'-2740' north latitude. It is a very impressive snow mountain for the tourists.
  2. And then move to visit the Baisha Village and the Baisha Murals, the Black Dragon Pool.
  - Baisha Village: Baisha is a small village near the town of Dayan.
  - Black Dragon Pool: At the foot of Longquan Hill, about 17 kilometers (10 miles) north of the center of Kunming, there is a beautiful place called the Black Dragon Pool (Heilongtan), also known as the Dragon Fountain Temple (Longquanguan). In fact, the place contains many attractions and the Black Dragon Pool is only one of them.
  3. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Lijiang.

  Day 10: Lijiang - Shangri-La (B, L)
  1. Pick you up from your hotel in Lijiang, and drive to Shangri-La and transfer to the hotel.
  2. On the way to Shangri-La, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the First Bend of the Yangtze River and the Stone Drum Town.
  - Tiger Leaping Gorge: the Tiger Leaping Gorge is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) northwest of Lijiang Old Town. It is believed that this gorge is the deepest gorge in the world.

  Day 11: Shangri-La (B, L)
  1. Pick up from your hotel in Shangri-La, and visit the Songzanlin Temple, the biggest Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Yunnan, the Bitahai Lake, Shudu Lake and a Tibetan family.
  - Songzanlin Temple: also known as Guihua Monastery, is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province. The monastery is located near to Shangri-La County, at the foot of Foping Mountain.
  - Bitahai Lake: it is about 3500 meters (about 3828 yards) above sea level. It occupies an area of about 159 hectares (around 393 acres) with an average depth of 20 meters (about 22 yards) and the maximum depth of 40 meters. The total water area is 159 hectares, which is very clear and tranquil.
  2. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel in Shangri-La.

  Day 12: Shangri-La - Kunming (B, L)
  1. Pick up from your hotel in Shangri-La, and transfer to Shangri-La Airport to take flight to Kunming.
  2. When you arrive at Kunming, the tour guide and driver will transfer you to visit the Golden Temple, the Daguan Park and the Flowers and Birds Market.
  - Golden Temple: The temple was first built in 1602 in the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and is also known as Taihe Palace (the Hall of Supreme Harmony) and Tongwa Temple (the Bronze Tile Temple).
  - Daguan Park: located 7 kilometers west of Kunming, is known for its longest antithetical couplet in China. First built in 1682 by a monk, the park once served as a Guanyin (Avalokistesvara's) Temple.
  3. After this tour, transfer you to your hotel in Kunming.

 

• Day 13: Departure from Kunming (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport. See off.
