Itinerary of China Tibet Tour – 12 Days Beijing Tibet Xian Shanghai Tour

• Day 1: Arrival at Beijing
  When you arrive at Beijing, tour guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Then, you will have a free time for the rest of the day.

 
• 

  Day 2: Beijing (B, L, D)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and then transfer you to visit the Tiananmen Square. After that, continue to visit the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. After explore those famous historical places, you will enjoy the Peking Duck Dinner in the famous Chinese restaurant, and enjoy Peking Opera show in the evening. After this tour, transfer you back to your hotel.
  - Tiananmen Square: is said to be the largest public square in the world. With a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
  - Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
  - Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.

  Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and then transfer you to visit the Temple of Heaven. After lunch, move on to visit Badaling Great Wall. Then drive you back to the downtown and we will drive by Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) and the Water Cube (Olympic Aquatic Center) in the afternoon. After the tour, tour guide will send you back to your hotel.
  - Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
  - Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

 

• Day 4: Beijing - Lhasa (B)
  Pick you up from hotel in Beijing in the morning and take the flight to Lhasa. When arrive at Lhasa, pick up from airport and transfer to hotel check in.

  Day 5: Lhasa (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and transfer you to visit the famous Patola Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. Then move on to visit Tibet Museum, the Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital and the Carpet Factory. After the tour, transfer you back to your hotel.
  - Potala Palace: A UNESCO endorsed world cultural heritage site. It was where Dalai Lama lived. The palace consists of White Palace and Red Palace, with nearly 10,000 rooms.
  - Jokhang Temple: built in 647 as the earliest wood-masonry structure in Tibet. It has a collection of cultural relics dating back to the Tang, which includes statues of Songtsan Gambo and Princess Wencheng.
  - Barkhor Street: Also called Bajiao Street - an ancient circular street with strong Tibetan flavor. And now a famous commercial street.

  Day 6: Lhasa (B)
  Today, we will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera. If we are very lucky, we may even come across Sera Monastery Monks debiting which was held in the courtyard at around 3:00-5:30 in the afternoon. Also the Tibet Musuem and silk carpet factory will be visited.
  - Drepung Monastery: It is considered one of the "Three Great Monasteries" (the other two are the Ganden Monastery and the Sera Monastery).
  - Sera Monastery: It is dedicated to the Gelugpa Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism and is famous for debates on Buddhist doctrines. Almost 10,000 Buddhist statues are preserved here.
   

 

• Day 7: Lhasa - Xian (B)
  Pick you up from hotel in Lhasa and transfer to airport take flight to Xian. When arrive at Xian, pick up from airport to hotel and check in.

 
• 

  Day 8: Xian (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel after breakfast,  then drive you to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. After that, have lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to visit the Ancient City Wall. In the evening, see an entertaining and fabulous Tang Dynasty Dinner Show and enjoy the Dumpling dinner before the show. After the day tour, tour guide will transfer back to your hotel!
  - Terra Cotta Warriors: It is a part of the Qin emperor's tomb complex, the Terra Cotta Warriors is the greatest findings in the archeology world.
  - Ancient City Wall: the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.

 

• Day 9: Xian - Shanghai (B)
  Pick you up from hotel in Xian and transfer to airport take flight to Shanghai. When arrive at Shanghai, pick up from airport to hotel and check in.

  Day 10: Shanghai (B, L)
  Pick you up from your hotel and visit Yu Garden, the Bund. After lunch, visit Xintiandi, Nanjing Road, Jade Buddhist Temple, Shanghai Musuem, the second ball in Oriental Tower. The whole tour ends and returns to your hotel.
  - Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum in China.
  - Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
  - The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.

 

• Day 11: Departure from Shanghai (B)
  Pick you up from your hotel on decided time and then transfer you to the airport. See you off and the tour end.
